Created a Minileague for NGB members to compete against each other and battle it out via points on their patches. For 2014 and 2015 there has been a 'Most Important Participant', the prize for which is a week staying on Bardsey island courtesy of the bird observatory, an extremely generous offer!

NGB is extremely grateful for both organisations allowing NGB members to Volunteer on their stands at BirdFair. RSPB allowed NGB to have part of their stand and also a stand of their own which they generously donated to the group.

Generously provided NGB with 5 copies of his amazing British ID Guide and led an NGB walk for members attending Birdfair last year.

Another generous donation to NGB, They donated two pairs of binoculars to the group for review. These reviews can be found on the blog! One pair was donated to a member chosen by popular vote and the other was decided by the committee.

NGB members receive a generous 35% discount on any WILD Guides publications and receive a few free copies of their latest releases for review by members.




Bird Observatories in Partnership with NGB



  Bardsey Bird Observatory
Host of the NGB Week on the island, providing NGBs with the chance to seawatch, ring birds and educate themselves on the island life.

Host of the NGB Weekend where members are offered to stay at the observatory and bird until to their heart's content. NGB Football match is a must on this weekend.
Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory
Host of the NGB week, giving NGBs the chance to experience life working at a Bird Observatory. Huge thanks to all the staff and the generous discount to our members, making it easier for our members to gain experience.

  1. Are you not aware that 'birding' means to deliberately entrap birds to kill them. (Similar to going rabbiting etc).

    I think you mean bird WATCHING and NOT the American corruption of the word birding!

    Please change your name to Next Generation Birdwatchers, which is the correct British name for your activites and which will, therefore, not cast any doubt on the nature of your organisation.
